Welcome...

Perhaps it happened when she looked so deeply and innocently into my eyes, or when she tenderly kissed my cheek. All I know is that from the moment we met she captured my heart, and I fell completely and hopelessly in love again.

Yes, my love for my dear wife and children runs deep; but, as any animal fanatic will attest, there is another joyous love in our lives. My infatuation with lapdogs began on a snowy December evening in 1995, while shopping at a local mall.

As I watched some adorable little Maltese puppies play behind the pet shop window, the smallest one pressed its tiny nose against the glass. Certain that it had smiled at me, I literally ran to find my wife, Cyndi, and hustled her back to the store. The precious puppy kissed Cyndi with every ounce of its being, snuggled warmly against her shoulder and promptly fell asleep. Of course, when that fuzzy little baby kissed my nose and burrowed its face into my neck, I melted.

Although we hadn't considered adding another pet to our family (our Bombay cat, Francis, had adopted us a year earlier), we couldn't get that sweet puppy out of our minds. After five months of anticipation, we wrapped our eight-week-old Maltese, Daisy Rose, in a baby blanket and brought her home from the breeder. She was, indeed, our "baby" – mine, for sure, as soon we became virtually inseparable. Christmas Eve, 2001, brought another Maltese puppy, Chloe Noelle, into our family. With our children away at college and careers, our two little furry babies were there to fill our hearts, to make us laugh and, yes, to warm our pillows at night.

If you have ever experienced the warmth and joyful personalities of little lapdogs, you can understand why LapDog Club surely was my destiny and the fulfillment of my heartfelt mission.

Lapdogs are precious gifts to all mankind, providing unconditional love and affection with  every ounce of their beings. They are joyful when we laugh, consoling when we cry, and ever faithful, despite our achievements and failings. They warm our hearts, enrich our souls, and lead us ever closer to our divine purpose on Earth. For that we are blessed. We are thankful. And we are forever committed to sharing their magnificence with all the world.

LapDog Club was created not only to support animal charities and to encourage social interaction among our people and canine members, but also to share the love and redeeming value of our animals within our communities – especially among children, seniors and others to whom they bring wide smiles, hope and happiness. The Club truly is our grateful tribute to the amazing ‘furry babies’ that bring joy to our hearts and unconditional love to everyone they meet.
